Ideally situated to treat Sabbath-envy with a severely arched eyebrow, I found this hybrid of a book — part spiritual memoir, part religious history and sociological analysis and literary. The first Sabbath Thoughts was just a simple email sent out to maybe ten or twelve of my friends who were interested. The Sabbath is the Lord's appointed day for laying aside all thoughts and activities of a secular nature and for coming together to hear the Word of God.
